EASTERN YELLOW ROBIN.

These are curious little birds because sometimes when I have been working in the garden for some time and they have got used to seeing me,one or two Robins will hop onto branches quite close. Their lemon yellow front makes them easy to identify.

Their song is a clear note continously repeated as well as a quick 'chop, chop' sound.
I have seen them in pairs rather than larger groups. Since I have lived here, I have picked up probably a dozen dead Robins, which have flown into the plate glass window of my back patio and killed themselves. But I have also picked up a similar number which have merely stunned themselves. After a few minutes to recover they will take off and flutter around for awhile until they recover their senses.

Its always a pleasure relaxing in the garden and watching these quick little birds darting around after the insects which form their diet.
