GANG-GANG COCKATOO.

Gang-gang Cockatoo.

Gang gang cockatoo location.

Location Map.

Like all Cockatoos, the Gang Gang is cheeky and gregarious.
Once half-a-dozen of them were sitting in a favourite tree of mine, stripping its young shoots. They were quite close to me as I jumped up and down, waving my arms and yelling to get rid of them. But they didnt move, and casually regarded me,between mouthfulls,as a sort of resident entertainment.

I see these birds, not all year but usually in Summer.A pair come to drink at my garden bird-bath just before night-fall after a hot summers day.

Gang gang cockatoo(Male)

Pair of Gang-gang cockatoos.

They love eating the seeds and seed pods high up in trees; making small but abrasive 'ehhr' noises as they eat and dropping twigs and seed pods on your head as you walk under the tree.
